If you're thinking about making a bigger trip out of the wedding weekend (highly recommend!), we'd suggest getting in touch with Volare Voyages — a luxury Italian travel and concierge service and sister company to our wedding planners. Because of that connection, they have full context of our wedding weekend, the venues, and the local area, which makes them really well placed to help.
They can assist with pretty much anything trip-related — airport transfers, accommodation, restaurant reservations, excursions, or putting together a fuller Italian itinerary, whether that's a few extra days in Tuscany or a trip down the Amalfi Coast. Completely optional, but if you'd rather not figure it all out yourself, they're a great resource! Reach out to them directly for a quote or to book a discovery call.

There is only Uber in the major cities (Rome, Florence, etc.) but it's generally less reliable than taxis. Once you get out into the countryside, taxis are less readily available and it's recommended to schedule one ahead of time.
We will also be sharing recommendations for taxi companies here closer to the date.
We recommend basing yourself in either Montepulciano or Pienza, both are about 15–20 minutes from the venue and make a beautiful home base for exploring the Val d'Orcia.
Montepulciano is the livelier of the two, with more restaurants, wine bars, and things to do. Pienza is smaller, flatter, and quieter, a great pick if you prefer easy strolling over hills and hustle.
Please see the travel tab above for details on the area, with hotel blocks + recommended Airbnbs to come soon!
The most cost-effective option is driving to your accommodations from whichever airport you choose to fly into. Renting a car is very easy and there are pickup locations at all airports. Thankfully, Italians drive on the same side of the road as the US!
If you are coming from the States, and plan to rent a car, double check if your rental car company requires you to have an International Driver's Permit. If so, the rental company will ask for it when you pick up your car. They are easy to get from places like AAA, cost around $30, and are valid for a year.
Transportation between hotels and events during the festivities will be provided.
If driving through the Italian countryside isn't your cup of tea, private transfers from Rome or Florence to Pienza run around €350-500 each way.
You can also take a train from one of the cities to Tuscany (Chianciano Terme is the closest station) and then hire a taxi to drive you the rest of the way to Pienza (25 min).
You will need a passport that is valid for at least 6 MONTHS after the planned end of your trip.
Yes! We will continue to update the travel tab with recommendations for sites and activities in the area.
Of course! We will provide transportation for the wedding events, however if you prefer to drive or are joining us earlier onsite please follow these directions to La Foce:
GPS COORDINATES: N 43° 1’ 27.78” / E 11° 46’ 46.2”
• From Fiumicino Airport, Rome: take the main highway towards Rome, but be prepared to turn off after some 8 kms to north on the ring-road around Rome to join the highway A1 (follow the green sings to Firenze). Exit at Chiusi-Chianciano Terme, about half-way between Rome and Florence.
• From Ciampino Airport, Rome: take the ring-road north, following the green signs to A1 Firenze. Exit at Chiusi-Chianciano Terme, about half-way between Rome and Florence.
• Coming from Florence: highway Firenze-Roma A1, exit Chiusi-Chianciano Terme
• Follow the directions for Chianciano Terme. 1 km before Chianciano Terme you will pass a gas station on your right, across the restaurant “Rabarbaro”. 100 metres after passing the station turn left on the road with the sign Monte Amiata, Via Cassia SS2. Almost immediately, 50 metres down the road turn right, always following the Monte Amiata signs. You are now on the road which winds around Chianciano Terme. At the next two T-junctions turn left, following the directions for Monte Amiata. The road winds around for 4 and ½ kms., then you will pass through a section of the road that goes up a hill; this section is bordered by cypress trees. At the top of the hill turn left at the sign 'Loc. La Foce' marking the entrance to the La Foce estate. Drive straight ahead towards the yellow building and the courtyard with a well in the middle. YOU HAVE ARRIVED at the main villa.
Our welcome party dress code is Summer Cocktail — polished, playful, and ready for a golden-hour Aperol spritz. Think breezy dresses, sharp lightweight suits, statement accessories, and colors that feel at home under the Tuscan sun. We'd recommend opting for flats or block heels as the venue grounds include gravel and grass.
Guests are welcome to wear Western or Indian cocktail attire — both are equally encouraged and celebrated. Have fun with color, texture, and personality.
